Why here
We set up the institute in a rural landscape on purpose. Away from urban pressure, researchers can think slowly, build carefully and stay connected to the land and people around them.
Our work spans fundamental physics, applied science and engineering, with a focus on turning research into things society can use. Ion-trap quantum computing sits at the centre, alongside antimatter studies, precision instrumentation, sensors and AI/ML.
We want the institute to show that frontier science can grow from a village, and to build pride and self-reliance in the community it grows from.

Leadership
Dr. K T Satyajith, Founder Director and Head of Delta Q, is an experimental physicist with 20 years of work in ion and electron trapping, precision spectroscopy and instrumentation.
Siddharth J. Shetty, Chairman of IMJ Institutions and MNBS Trust, founded IMJIR with the aim of an international research centre in a rural setting.
